At today’s session of the Assembly of the County of Istria, the Decision on Drafting Amendments to the Spatial Plan of the County of Istria was adopted, and as it was emphasized in the introduction, spatial planning and the adoption of spatial plans, as strategic documents, are long-term processes, clearly defined by law. For this reason, it was decided to make amendments to the Spatial Plan, in order to shorten the deadlines as much as possible, and at the same time realize the initiated initiatives. The last amendments to the IŽ Spatial Plan were adopted in 2016. year, and until today, initiatives from business entities, private individuals, cities and municipalities have continuously arrived. Amendments are now being made solely for the purpose of: determining the scope of interventions for the purpose of planning solar power plants of state and county significance (installed capacity of 10 MW and greater) in order to implement the green transition; reviewing the possibility of planning offshore wind farms; revision of the Provisions for the implementation of PPIŽ in the part of energy production from renewable sources; modification of certain planning solutions of the transport system: maritime, road and railway, as well as electronic communication infrastructure and other related equipment; planning buildings for waste management; adjustments of observed ambiguities and errors determined by the application of the valid PPIŽ; and alignment of individual segments of PPIŽ with amended legal and by-law regulations.
Another Decision that was adopted refers to the establishment of the Center for the Development of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Istrian County – Centro per il sviluppo della pesca e acquacoltura della Regione Istriana, with the aim of developing fisheries and aquaculture in forms and technologies that have the least harmful impact on marine and coastal ecosystems; developing activities that generate alternative income for local fishing communities; encouraging innovative ways of adding value to the catch; diversification of the fishing industry; as well as cooperation between scientists, fishermen and the fishing industry.
Let’s also mention that the Assembly also adopted the Proposal of the Conclusion on the acceptance of the Agreement on the co-financing of credit obligations for the adaptation and equipping of the Children’s Rehabilitation Department in the Special Hospital for Orthopedics and Rehabilitation “Martin Horvat” Rovinj-Rovigno. Let’s remind you that in May, the Hospital, the County, Istrian cities and municipalities, at the initiative of Istrian Prefect Boris Miletić, signed a Letter of Intent to cooperate on the Project of reconstruction and equipping of the Children’s Rehabilitation Department in the Special Hospital with the primary goal of meeting the needs of children born with neurorisks and their families from the area of the entire Istrian County.
